About The Grant

The Grant is an independent podcast and professional platform dedicated to EU funding.

It was created to make the complex world of European funding more accessible, practical and human. Through in-depth conversations with experts and practitioners, The Grant explores how ideas become proposals, how strong partnerships are built, how funded projects are implemented and how results can create lasting impact.

Since launching inMay 2022, The Grant has grown from a single podcast into a wider initiative covering the full EU funding journey. The platform now includes independent editorial episodes, partner series, project-based podcast productions, matchmaking activities, professional services and a growing European community of people working with research, innovation and cooperation programmes.

The Grant covers Horizon Europe, Interreg, Erasmus+, LIFE and other European funding programmes. Topics range from proposal development, consortium building and impact to project management, communication, research management and the people behind the processes.

Independent by design

The editorial podcast remains an independent initiative. This has been pivotal for me since I created this in Spring 2022.

This independence makes it possible to explore the EU funding landscape openly, ask difficult questions and include perspectives from across countries, sectors, organisations and professional roles.

Alongside the independent podcast, The Grant also develops clearly identified collaborations and commissioned podcast series with universities, consultancies, EU projects, networks and other organisations. These partnerships make it possible to explore specialised subjects in greater depth while maintaining transparency about who is involved.

About Niels Tudor-Vinther

The Grant was created and is hosted by me, Niels Tudor-Vinther.

I has worked with EU research, innovation and cooperation funding since 2008. My experience spans public administration, National Contact Point work, regional development, sector representation, private consultancy, business development, stakeholder engagement and European network-building.

Throughout my career, I have helped researchers, companies, municipalities, universities and other organisations navigate European programmes, develop project ideas, build partnerships and turn early concepts into competitive proposals.

My professional background includes work with FP7, Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, LIFE, Erasmus+ and other European and mission-oriented programmes.

By combining this experience with podcast production, I have developed The Grant as a place where EU funding professionals can exchange knowledge, share real experiences and connect across organisational and national boundaries.

More than a podcast

The Grant also provides podcast production and scouting services for EU proposals, funded projects, consultancies, universities and European networks.

The objective is the same across all activities: to connect people, knowledge and opportunities and to strengthen the European funding community.
